Life can be so boring when everything is planned accordingly. Yes, I love well-planned trips, but spontaneous adventures anytime, anywhere are something I’m always up to. Here’s another misadventure I’ll be sharing with you, laughing.

Supposedly, our planned trip is to visit the tourist spots of Aloguinsan, Cebu as I haven’t been there before. It’s our first road trip since the pandemic and we enjoyed every moment of it. We visited Hermit’s Cove, Bojo River, and their spacious, tidy public market.
We were supposed to stay overnight at Hidden White Beach Resort when the receptionists informed us of its cancellation. It’s not a problem at all if they won’t allow us for safety purposes and as mandated by the government. The issue is their failure to notify us since we had our reservation on that day and even paid for it. We can always find somewhere else for the night.
Yeah, it’s very disappointing and it is difficult to keep your composure when you are tired, pissed off, and hungry. Walk-ins are not allowed for overnight stays – the side-hassles of the pandemic. We need to book our accommodation while traveling to Moalboal and secure the necessary permits. Added to that is the intermittent internet and network connection delaying the communication.
Thanks to God, we made a quick cabin reservation at Bigsand Resort and Campgrounds. The roundabout route was not bad after all. Instead, it’s a well-spent beach chill for everyone. I do love the seclusion and peacefulness of the resort. We enjoyed the scenery and each other’s company while on a detour. Whole story here: Aloguinsan Bound, Ended-Up in Moalboal: An Epic Detour
Not all detours in life are meant to ruin our goals. See them as opportunities for new experiences. Sometimes, a detour can be rougher than the main road, but it can also be an empowering path to our destination.
Note: Always be a responsible traveler. Follow health and government protocols. Leave no trace wherever you go.
Until my next adventure fellow wanderers. Keep safe and healthy always.
